01Why does ARKPIA keep artwork records?Artist-verified information forms the starting point of a lasting artwork record.

So that the record rests on the title, year, medium, dimensions and description confirmed by the artist, rather than on gallery or sales information alone. A work’s beginning is recorded whether or not it is for sale, so the relationship between artist and work can still be verified years later.

An official record that starts with the artist

Artwork details confirmed by the artist form the basis of the record.

Authentication linked at the moment of approval

When a work passes review, an ARKPIA Serial and a Fingerprint are created for it, and GENESIS — the record of its original registration and approval — becomes the first entry in its OwnershipChain.

A record built only from verified history

From then on, only ownership and transfer records that ARKPIA has verified and approved are added to the OwnershipChain.

ARKPIA authentication records as legal evidence ARKPIA registration, review, approval and authentication records document who registered a work, when it was approved, and whether its records match. These records can be submitted and used as legal evidence when assessing authenticity and verifying legal ownership.

ARKPIA is a non-exclusive platform. You can continue exhibiting and working with other galleries and platforms while recording and managing your artwork details yourself.

Artwork records registered by the artist and reviewed and approved by ARKPIA, together with future authentication materials, can be submitted and used as legal evidence when authenticity is assessed or legal ownership is confirmed. Ownership transfers and resale records verified by ARKPIA are linked to a work’s ownership record and to artist royalties.

04How do I apply as an artist?Sign up, submit an application and receive ARKPIA approval to use the Artist Studio.

    You can sign up with Google, Kakao or email, and the required terms must be accepted separately.

    Complete the artist application.

    Submit your artist name, biography, official website and social media links, and materials for review. Review materials are not published.

    Track your application status.

    Check whether your application is under review, approved, declined or needs additional information in your account.

    Use the Artist Studio once approved.

    Artist approval and the review and approval of individual works are separate processes.

At present, only people aged 14 or over can create an account themselves. Access for those under 14 is not available until we announce it separately.

05How do I register a work?Enter works one at a time, or import a CSV or XLSX inventory list and save it as a draft.

Registering a work does not mean listing it for sale or publishing it immediately. Approved artists save a draft, check the details and then request review for each work.

Please register works on a computer or tablet. On a phone you can view your full list of works.

Original is selected by default when registering one artwork. Artwork registration saves the individual work. To group saved works into a series, find and select them in Series management.

  1. Single-work registration → Confirm OriginalConfirm that Original is preselected as the work type and move to the next step.
  2. Basic details and image → Save draftEnter the title and basic details, select an artwork image and save it as a private draft.
  3. Write and save the description → Submit for reviewSave the description, make a final check of your entries and images, then request review of the work.
Series are managed after a work is registered. In Series management, search for a title, tick the checkbox under the work’s card and enter a separate series name. Even if titles or numbers differ, only the originals you select are linked as works in the same series.

Continue each saved draft one work at a time from All works, then submit it for review.

  1. ＋ Register new work → Import inventory listSelect a single-sheet file and check the automatic classification results.

Saving and submitting for review are not the same. Works saved as drafts are not visible to anyone outside. After submission they must pass our review and approval process before they can be published.

06How do I write and publish my public profile?Follow the screens in order, from drafting your profile to preparing featured works, previewing and publishing.

Save your profile as a draft, check how it looks to visitors, then publish. Publishing works is optional.

  1. Artist Studio → Artist profileUnder Public artist pages in the sidebar, select Artist profile. Start by checking your profile’s publication status, the required fields, the number of approved works, and your published and featured work settings.
  2. Basic details → Artist name · One-line statement · Biography and career highlights → Save as draftThese three fields are required in order to publish. You can save your progress as a draft along the way; profile photo, genre, medium, region and official links are optional.

The profile photo you uploaded appears next to your biography and career highlights, and you can also check your featured work and all public artworks.
Save as draft, Preview my public profile and Publish are three separate steps. Saving a draft does not make it visible to visitors right away. If you switch your profile to private, it no longer appears in the published artist list or on artist pages, but per-work visibility settings, authentication records and existing QR checks remain intact.

07How do I choose my public artworks and featured work?You can keep all your works private or select up to six to display publicly. If you display any works, choose one as your featured work.

Save each work’s published content in All works, then use Public artworks · Featured work to confirm what appears on your profile. You can publish nothing or select up to six works, and if you have public artworks you choose one featured work.

  7. Tick Featured artwork on another work → Featured artwork changesWhen you tick another work, the previous featured work is cleared and the new one is saved immediately. There is no separate save button.
  8. Preview my public profile → PublishSaving a featured work does not publish your artist profile automatically. Check the visitor view on the Artist profile screen, then publish separately.
  9. View live public profile → Check featured work and all worksThe link appears once your profile is published. Check that your featured work, all public artworks, and the profile photo next to your biography and career highlights display correctly.
Publishing a work, setting a featured work and publishing your profile are three separate settings. Publishing a work is also separate from its authentication record. If you unpublish a work, it is cleared from your featured work as well. Making your last published work private does not change the profile publication status you chose, and the work’s approval, ARKPIA Serial, Fingerprint, GENESIS, Certificate of Authenticity (COA) and existing QR all remain intact.

08How do I create and manage a series?How to search for and select approved originals to create a new series or link them to an existing one.

Search your approved originals and link only the works you choose to a new or existing series.

In Series management you search for works, select them and link them, and all selected works are managed as works in the same series. Edition Source records are entered on the work registration screen, based on an approved original. Unique numbers, QR codes, Certificates of Authenticity (COA), ownership, sales and stock management for individual editions are not yet available.

Who handles storage, packaging, shipping and delivery, and how costs and responsibility are divided, will be set out in each work’s transaction terms in future. Notes a collector writes on condition, installation and insurance are private notes; they do not represent an ARKPIA appraisal or insurance verification. Sending an inquiry or pressing a button does not by itself complete a transaction or an ownership transfer.

    You can log in with Google, Kakao, or your email and password. Whichever method you use, the required terms must be accepted, and artist permissions go through a separate application and approval process.

    My Page shows your artist application status and whether the Artist Studio is available to you.

12What does the public authentication information show?It shows the unique identifier, public artwork information and authentication records of an approved work.
  • When a work passes review, an ARKPIA Serial and a Fingerprint are created for it, and GENESIS — the record of its original registration and approval — becomes the first entry in its OwnershipChain.
  • A work’s Fingerprint is generated from the artwork details at the time of approval — title, artist, unique number, medium, dimensions, registration time and so on. It is used later to check whether the record has changed.
  • It is not a value that appraises the artwork image or the physical work itself.
  • If required records are missing or do not match one another, the work is not shown as properly authenticated.
  • The owner’s personal information, transaction prices, private supporting documents and the full history are not published.

The evidentiary value of ARKPIA authentication ARKPIA registration, review, approval and authentication records can be submitted and used as legal evidence when assessing authenticity and verifying legal ownership.

Using authentication documents Artwork records and certificates registered by the artist and reviewed and approved by ARKPIA can be used to assess authenticity and verify legal ownership. Ownership transfers are recorded separately after the supporting evidence is checked and ARKPIA approves the transfer. Artwork list exports will be announced when a release schedule is confirmed.

14What information is public, and what stays private?Only approved public information is shown. Drafts, review materials and personal information stay protected.

Is there a Legacy Collector tier?

There is currently no Legacy Collector tier and no special benefits granted automatically.

What kind of platform is ARKPIA?

A platform that links artist-verified artwork details to review and authentication records, and helps collectors discover artwork and artist information they can trust.

Can I use Artist Studio as soon as I sign up?

No. You sign up as a general member first, then pass the artist application and approval process to use the Artist Studio.

Can I also work with other galleries or platforms?

Yes. ARKPIA is a non-exclusive platform and does not restrict your activity with other exhibitions, galleries or platforms.

Are artist royalties paid on resale?

Resale, payment and artist payouts are planned but not yet available. How royalties apply, and on what terms, will be announced separately once confirmed.

Can emerging artists apply?

Yes. We do not restrict applications on the basis of career history, but every applicant goes through the same review and approval process.

Which features can Premiere-approved artists use?

Artists given final approval during the Premiere period can use the core features — profile and artwork records, private drafts, work types and review status tracking — free for life. Features that carry separate costs, such as future transactions, payment, shipping and resale, may fall outside the free scope.

What can I see before buying a work?

For now you can see approved artwork and artist details, the authentication records cleared for publication, and the sale intent, asking price and framing details published by the artist. Purchase terms, offers, payment, shipping and artist payouts, and post-transaction ownership linking, are planned but not yet available.

When is ownership transferred?

On-platform transactions and post-transaction ownership linking are planned but not yet available. Ownership is not transferred automatically simply because a request was made on screen or a payment or shipping status changed.

Can authentication details still be checked years from now?

The public authentication check (Verify) screen shows the artwork details and authentication records cleared for publication. ARKPIA’s registration, review, approval and authentication records can be submitted and used as legal evidence when authenticity is assessed or legal ownership is confirmed, later on.

Can I link a work I already own to ARKPIA’s records?

Linking works you already own is planned but not yet available. We will explain how it works — including private supporting documents, artist confirmation and ARKPIA approval — once the process is set.

Is there a VIP Collector tier?

There is currently no VIP tier and no automatic benefits.

Can I resell a work I already own through ARKPIA?

Resale, purchase offers, payment and post-transaction ownership linking are planned but not yet available.
